S'up, divers?
What a busy week! Sorry I didn't post sooner, friends - Last weekend's dives were great, with an octopus sighting at Keystone on Saturday and some huge fish at Edmonds on Sunday. Thanks all!
This Sunday (March 14th) were heading down to Langley. Meeting at the shop at 7:30 for some awesome local diving and perhaps some of Jason's famous chili dogs after! Super sweet. Come check out some green water in honor of St. Patty's Day.
Also, there has been some interest in getting some weekday diving going, so if you are looking for a weekday dive buddy let us know... We can help you get together! Nice.

Oh, Puget Sound and the San Juans! How I love you.....
So I missed out (has to work) on what I heard was way too fun of a bench dive at Rat Race Karting in Burlington last week. Apparently there are some crazy drivers amongst us... And Kyle, you are forgiven for not knowing there was going to be a surprise party for you. (It's a terrible problem to have so many friends!)
We live in one of the most beautiful, amazing, diverse places! Last weekend in Friday Harbor on Banditos Charters we had some excellent dives, and a wonderful time topside... Nice weather, good vis, tons of life! I saw: a Pacific King Crab 12" across, schooling Pacific and Copper Rockfish, Lingcod, Sculpin, shrimp, a huge clown dorid, a massive Monterrey Sea Lemon, Alabaster nudibranch, a basket star, big barnacles, kelp/rock/decorator crab, pretty anemones and cloud sponges, lovely sunflower stars and bright blood stars, bald eagle, golden eagle, heron, cormorants and kingfishers, Dahl's porpoise, deer, harbor seal, piling worm, and otter....not to mention a bunch of friends having fun! Thanks everyone! We're going out on the boat again on Saturday, March 27th. Wooo hoooo! Do come along if you are so inclined....
This weekend we have some awesome shore diving planned - Saturday the 6th we are heading to Keystone and on Sunday the 7th we're off to Edmonds. Both days we will be meeting at the shop at 7:30 am. I hear it's supposed to be 60 degrees and sunny! If you need gear or more info please contact/come in to the shop. As always, all are welcome and shore support is appreciated. Tell your friends!

Has spring sprung?
The Valentine's Day diving at Langley Tire Reef was awesome! Great visibility (up to 30'), lots of fish, great people (thanks Chuck, Jason, Andrew, Roy, Gus, Ryan, Amanda, John, Ben, Rick, Illya, Crayton, Sarah, Luciano, Gio and Tami), and Jason's (nearly) world famous chili dogs! Too fabulous. I had a wonderful 100th dive, and passed my DM tired diver tow to boot (John, you were a lovely tired diver)! Much love and pure niceness.....
So we have the Banditos Charter coming up on Saturday the 27th out of Friday Harbor, which is really exciting, but if anyone's got the itch for something sooner, give a shout out! Comment here, put out the rally call on Facebook, or call the shop. I am heading to inland Washington this weekend and won't be diving, probably just talking about how much I love diving to my non-diving family.....
I think I heard Amanda say she might want to get wet. Any buddies out there?
Catch you soon, me hearties!

Valentine's Day Diving!
First, I would like to say that the diving lately has been great! The mild winter is making for perfect days in the ocean. Reports from Monday's Banditos Charter were glowing, and I think there's a spot or two left on the trip on the 28th if you want to see for yourself. Keystone (last minute change of plans from Edmonds) was awesome on Saturday, with an octopus sighting, huge lingcod (and eggs!), lots of sculpin, decorator crabs, scallops, and wonderful vis - not to mention a really nice sunny day...
Mostly I'm blogging to talk about Valentine's Day, though. On Sunday we are going Group Gone Diving down to Langley Tire Reef. I am personally very excited about this one, as it's my 100th dive! And since I am soooo in love with SCUBA, it just seems like the right thing to do. We will be meeting at the shop at 7:30 am, and I would LOVE to see you there!

how wants to dive? I do I do!!!
Yesterday we did a last minute night dive at alki cove 2. At about 95 feet we saw something huge buzz us. I thought it was the elusive 6 gill shark. It turned out to be a harbor seal and it played with us all the way though our safety stop. We also saw a big rat fish.
Any way who wants to get wet this weekend? Maybe some of you got a northwest dive book for Christmas. Somebody pick a site and we will go exploring.
Happy Holidays
Scott
