Has spring sprung?
The Valentine's Day diving at Langley Tire Reef was awesome! Great visibility (up to 30'), lots of fish, great people (thanks Chuck, Jason, Andrew, Roy, Gus, Ryan, Amanda, John, Ben, Rick, Illya, Crayton, Sarah, Luciano, Gio and Tami), and Jason's (nearly) world famous chili dogs! Too fabulous. I had a wonderful 100th dive, and passed my DM tired diver tow to boot (John, you were a lovely tired diver)! Much love and pure niceness.....
So we have the Banditos Charter coming up on Saturday the 27th out of Friday Harbor, which is really exciting, but if anyone's got the itch for something sooner, give a shout out! Comment here, put out the rally call on Facebook, or call the shop. I am heading to inland Washington this weekend and won't be diving, probably just talking about how much I love diving to my non-diving family.....
I think I heard Amanda say she might want to get wet. Any buddies out there?
Catch you soon, me hearties!

Valentine's Day Diving!
First, I would like to say that the diving lately has been great! The mild winter is making for perfect days in the ocean. Reports from Monday's Banditos Charter were glowing, and I think there's a spot or two left on the trip on the 28th if you want to see for yourself. Keystone (last minute change of plans from Edmonds) was awesome on Saturday, with an octopus sighting, huge lingcod (and eggs!), lots of sculpin, decorator crabs, scallops, and wonderful vis - not to mention a really nice sunny day...
Mostly I'm blogging to talk about Valentine's Day, though. On Sunday we are going Group Gone Diving down to Langley Tire Reef. I am personally very excited about this one, as it's my 100th dive! And since I am soooo in love with SCUBA, it just seems like the right thing to do. We will be meeting at the shop at 7:30 am, and I would LOVE to see you there!

how wants to dive? I do I do!!!
Yesterday we did a last minute night dive at alki cove 2. At about 95 feet we saw something huge buzz us. I thought it was the elusive 6 gill shark. It turned out to be a harbor seal and it played with us all the way though our safety stop. We also saw a big rat fish.
Any way who wants to get wet this weekend? Maybe some of you got a northwest dive book for Christmas. Somebody pick a site and we will go exploring.
Happy Holidays

4th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest
We are going to be hosting a favorite event of ours, under water pumpkin carving. We will meet at 9am @ Rosario Beach, the carving will began @ 10am. There are rules to be followed.
1) Must have a buddy, cannot enter water by yourself. If you don't have a buddy we can provide one for you. (We must know if you need a buddy before the day of the event)
2) Bring your own pumpkin but DO NOT pre-clean/gut or pre-draw/trace your pumpkin. You may get any size you want.
3) You will have one hour to gut your pumpkin (on land), trace (if you desire) and carve your pumpkin underwater. Only the carving will be done under the water.
We will be taking orders for long sleeve T-shirts up to the day of the contest. If you would like one please pre-pay. They are going to be black this year with orange writing.
We are going to be providing rentals only at 50% off. Must have your gear ready to go before Saturday. We will NOT be meeting at shop in the morning. Must return gear that day to get your 50% off discount. Discount will not be valid for gear returning the following day. All rentals are on a first come first serve basis.
What about after the carving? We are going to have a potluck. Bring your favorite fall dish. If you want to do a chili cook off, shout it out!
Let Chuck know if you have any questions or concerns. Get your name up on the list so we know how many are showing up.
